<p>The new found discovery that Russet potatoes, pecans, and cinnamon contained high amounts of antioxidants was unknown until this study was done&#8211;confrmation was also given that . Antioxidants are important as they are thought to fight cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.</p>
<p>&#8220;The bottom line is the same&#8211;eat more fruits and veggies,&#8221; says Ronald L. Prior, Ph.D., a chemist and nutritionist with the USDA&#8217;s Arkansas Children&#8217;s Nutrition Center in Little Rock, Ark., and lead author of the study. &#8220;This study confirms that those foods are full of benefits, particularly those with higher levels of antioxidants. Nuts and spices are also good sources.&#8221; </p>
<p>The new study is more complete more accurate than previous USDA antioxidant data and includes more foods than the previous study as high tech equipment was used by the researchers. They analyzed antioxidant levels in over 100 different foods, including fruits and vegetables&#8211;the new study also includes data on spices and nuts for the first time. </p>
<p>The foods were analyzed and measured for the concentration levels of antioxidants and the capacity per serving of the antioxidants. Research showed the top fruits were the acai berry, cranberries, blueberries, and black berries. The highest levels found in the nut category were walnuts, hazelnuts, and pecans&#8211;Russet potatoes, beans, and artichokes were found to have the highest level antioxidant concentration in the vegetable category.</p>
<p>ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and oregano were found to have high amounts of antioxidants. Spices are usually consumed in small amounts, even though many are high in antioxidants.</p>
<p>A study such as this proves very helpful for those looking to increase their antioxidant intake in their foods. <p>Everyone is intrigued by skinny people.  We wonder what it will take for us to get that kind of figure or if the skinny are that way because of their family characteristics.  Did the thin hit a lucky streak?  Or must they work extra hard to keep that svelte figure.</p>
<p>Its both true and untrue.</p>
<p>We suspect that the skinny, skinny people must really work hard to stay skinny.  We accuse them of eating rabbit food when we see them eating nothing but lettuce with no dressing and watch every tiny morsel that crosses their hips</p>
<p>There is a whole other group of thin people that make being thin look easy.   </p>
<p>Those that are naturally thin have many character traits in common to maintain their svelte figures. Here are seven secrets that I found after interviewing hundreds of naturally thin people over the course of 14 years. See if you can identify with any of them. See where you could make some natural shifts easily so that you can be a naturally thin person too.</p>
<p>1.  These people have thin thinking.  They know they can stay thin forever and make comments like Im little, or Im not going to be able to eat all of that.  Their self talk is different than others.  Their actions to circumstances and events are different.  Food is not their placebo when a pet dies or they have to do something unpleasant.  To them food is just food.  It may taste good, they enjoy eating it, but it isnt there for anything but to be used as fuel for their bodies.</p>
<p>2. Naturally thin people do not diet.  True Story.  They would never ever think of dieting.  If asked why, their response is that theyve never thought of themselves as anything but skinny so theyve never had to diet.  During my many years of research one question I asked every thin person if they had ever been concerned about gaining weight and their response was always no.  When I asked why not, the would tell me Ive never been heavy or over weight</p>
<p>3. The naturally thin dont mix emotions and food. If the thin are sad, they cry or call a friend. If they are angry, they go work out or punch their pillows. There is little to no crossover between emotions and eating. It simply doesnt make sense to them. The only reason food is ever thought of is because they get hungry &#8221; thats it. If they are not hungry, but sad &#8221; they will deal with their sadness. Dealing with emotions in an emotional way is commonplace for this thin group.</p>
<p>4. The naturally thin can be social without eating. If the thin are invited to a bbq and they arent hungry, they have no problem standing around not eating. If and when they get hungry, they will gladly grab a dog or burger, but not until then. They go to a bbq to enjoy the company of friends and family. Grazing for the simple act of grazing is not an option.</p>
<p>5. The naturally thin eat foods they love. It would never make sense for them to eat celery sticks if they werent craving celery. They eat foods that they crave when they are hungry. They never go into deprivation mode by saying no, I cant have that. They know that they are entitled to eat whatever they want when they are hungry. No is not an option unless of course there is an allergy or sensitivity to certain foods.</p>
<p>6.  Mindless eating to numb the senses is something thin people dont do.  They are always concious of the effect that what they are eating has on their bodies.  You would never find them at the theater with their hand in the bottom of an almost empty popcorn bucket wondering if they ate it all.  Thin people know how hungry they are before they sit down to a meal and how full they are while or after they finish eating..  They are ignorant about diets, calories and other aspects of food.</p>
<p>7. Naturally thin people almost never overeat. There is nothing worse to this group of thin individuals, than overeating. They hate how it sinks their energy level and forces their bellys to protrude. Yuck! This extreme discomfort keeps them from overeating and reinforces this negative feeling. The average naturally thin person only overeats two percent of the time. </p>
<p>See, there is a difference in their mindset and their actions.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ve learned that it&#8217;s not your genetics or luck; its not the quality or types of food that determines whether these thin individuals gain weight. Its about how they eat, when they eat, their connection with their body and the freedom to choose all types of foods. </p>
<p>So, now that you know all this, if you are considering losing weight, there is no time like the present and dieting isnt necessary as the naturally thin dont.</p>

<p>Skinny people intrigue everyone.  What has it taken them to get that figure, or is it simply the result of lucky jeans? Er, I mean genes  People wonder if the skinny just got lucky or if they have to work really hard to stay thin.</p>
<p>It might be, then again, it might not</p>
<p>Those who are really thin likely work really hard to stay thin.  These are the folks who watch every single calorie that crosses their hips and eat rabbit food with no dressing.</p>
<p>On the other hand there are other thin individuals who make thin look easy.</p>
<p>Naturally thin people have many traits in common that help to maintain their thin figures.  After interviewing hundreds of naturally skinny folks over the course of 14 years, Ive come with seven skinny secrets they have in common.  You might be able to identify with some of them and you also might be able to make a few slight shifts that would help you to become naturally thin too.</p>
<p>1.  These people have thin thinking.  They know they can stay thin forever and make comments like Im little, or Im not going to be able to eat all of that.  Their self talk is different than others.  Their actions to circumstances and events are different.  Food is not their placebo when a pet dies or they have to do something unpleasant.  To them food is just food.  It may taste good, they enjoy eating it, but it isnt there for anything but to be used as fuel for their bodies.</p>
<p>2. The naturally thin dont diet. Its true. These naturally thin men and women would never think of dieting. Why, because theyve never had to and never thought of themselves any other way, but skinny. When asking thin people if they worry about gaining weight, they most always say something to the voice of, no and when I ask why not? they say because I never have been overweight.</p>
<p>3. Naturally thin people dont confuse food with emotions.  If they are sad, they call a friend or cry.  When angry, they get some physical exercise or take it out on their pillow.  They dont mix eating with emotions as it just doesnt make sense to do so.  They only think of food when they become hungry.  No other time, if they are emotionally stressed, they deal with their emotions, and not by eating.  The thin group always deals with emotions in an emotional way.</p>
<p>4.  Naturally thin people dont have to eat to be sociable.  Shuld a thin person go to a bar-b-que and not be hungry, they dont have any problem mixing and talking but not eating.  Whenever they happen to get hungry, they grab something to eat, but not until they are hungry.  They are there to enjoy the socializing with family and friends.  They dont know the meaning of the term grazing.</p>
<p>5.  Naturally thin people eat what they love.  They would never think of eating celery sticks unless they were craving celery sticks.  And when they are hungry, they eat foos they crave.  They never deprive themselves of something by saying no, I cant have that.  They know they can eat anything they want when they are hungry.  They dont say no to any food unless they are sensitive or allergic to specific foods.</p>
