Kick Your Soda Addiction With These Substitutes
Written by Chris Mariosa on December 10th, 2009I love the carbonation that a soda gives me. It feels crisp and refreshing going down my throat, and it quenches my thirst more effectively than anything else it seems.
As much as I happen to love about soda, I’ve had to struggle with my obsession recently. It’s time for me to focus on my health, and I figure that cutting soda out of my diet will be a major step in the right direction.
Drinking soda is bad for your teeth, negatively impacts your energy levels, and even leads to weight gain. As a result, I’ve decided to replace my sodas with one of a few other drinks.
If you’re at a loss for what to drink in its place and can’t come to terms with the idea of drinking water all day, any one of these drinks might do the job for you.
Have you ever had seltzer? If you have, try drinking it more regularly for a few weeks and the taste of it, or lack thereof, will grow on you. This is a perfectly healthy substitute for soda, and the carbonation definitely helps out.
Some people simply need a little more flavor in a drink. If that’s the case, try out any of the carbonated juices offered by Izze or Fizzy Lizzy. These are both great treats that have become wildly popular during the last few years.
Lastly, green tea is very healthy and will give you some of the energy that you’re used to getting with soda. Loaded with antioxidants, you’ll be doing a great thing for your body by substituting soda with green tea.
Give each of these a shot for at least a week if you’re serious about changing your habits. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by what a difference it makes
